I received this e-mail this morning from Compassion and thought I'd share it with all of you......
Friends and Radio Partners,
Compassion Philippines continues to assess the damage and gather information after the devastating Typhoon Haiyan occurred on November 8, 2013.
Communications and transportation continues to remain difficult, so the number of children and church partners affected by the storm has not been verified.
The province of Bohol is without electricity and may not receive it for another 45 days. This area was impacted by the 7.2 magnitude earthquake in October.
Funds have begun to be disbursed to Compassion Philippines to provide relief assistance to church partners located in Leyte, Samar, Panay, Biliran, and Sorsogon. The relief assistance includes food provision, medicine and first aid kits, tents, blankets, basic clothing, and hygiene items.
The Compassion Philippines disaster team is monitoring the situation closely. Please remain patient as information is being collected during such a difficult time.
Prayer Request:
Please pray for the Lord’s protection and care for the Philippines.
Please pray for all who are involved in the difficult task of assessing damages throughout the affected communities.
Please ask for the Lord’s comfort and strength to the families who have lost loved ones.
The people of the Philippines will appreciate any help you can give to bring vital support to those in the middle of this tragedy.
Updated resources now include social media items and audio work parts:
Resources for your use are updated and you can access them here. Please link any banners or social media posts to Compassion.com/superstorm.
