Let's discuss sin...
What was the first sin?
Pride.
(see Isaiah 14:12-15)
It is obvious from the text that Satan’s sin was pride. He was so beautiful, so wise, and so powerful as an angel that he began to covet God’s position and authority. He refused at having to serve God and grew angry and rebellious. He did not want to serve, he wanted to be served; he, as a creature, wanted to be worshipped. How opposite of behavior from our savior Jesus Christ, who came not to be ministered unto, but to minister and to give his life a ransom for many.
Sadly, pride is still a huge problem today. Oh, how we refuse to listen to and serve God and instead put ourselves first.
Let's pray: Lord forgive us and help us with the changes we need to make in our life to be a better example to those around us. -Amen
