If you have ever felt like life is unfair, these words of Jesus may provide some comfort. In the context of this scripture, the Jews believed that wealth could gain God's favor and righteousness.
The phrase "first will be last and the last will be first" (as some translations word it) does not mean one person gains more honor than another. It means there is no advantage, status, or honor in God's kingdom.
