These verses in Ephesians gives us a big help in our Christian walk. A Christian's walk includes conduct, attitudes and dedication. It is a way of living before men. We must be different. We must put away lying. Our speech shows our spirit. We mjust put away all bitterness, all anger, and harsh words. Be kind to each other. We must not have anything to do with deeds of darkness for we are children of light!
We are to walk:
Humbly - with all lowliness and meekness
Lovingly - with endurance, forgiving one another in love
Peacefully - giving diligence to "keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace."
Your spiritual life will affect your social life. Many turn it around and attempt to create a social life that will create a spiritual life. This cannot be. First, lets be in a right relationship with God, then we will be able to have a proper relationship with people.
Read this entire chapter in Ephesians. It is a great explanation of our new life in Christ, and how we should live it. When you get to verse 4:18, take note... "They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts." Paul takes time to mention his prayer for spiritual growth many times in this book. That verse gives a reason why -a hardening heart, separated from the life of God. That is not something I desire... How about you?
